The White German Noble Goat (Weiße Deutsche Edelziege) was developed in the 20th century from various white dairy goat breeds in order to create a particularly robust and productive dairy goat. It produces large quantities of milk with a high fat and protein content and is also undemanding and hardy. In Westphalia, the breed was kept mainly by the poorer rural population. The breed is characterized by its white coat, upright ears, and slender build. Today, the breed is preserved in agriculture and hobby farming and is used in landscape conservation, as in the LWL-Museum Hellerlecht.
